Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalem Batten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batten is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Collie Buddz - Defend Your Own. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kalem Batten!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Batten breaks the clinch.
Nolan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Nolan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Batten tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Batten instigates a clinch.
Batten wants to get back to striking at distance but Nolan won't allow it.
Nolan tries to pull guard but Batten holds him up against the cage and eventually Nolan drops back down to his feet.
Batten connects with a nasty looking knee right to Nolan's face.
Batten using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Nolan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Batten scores with a nice hook to the head.
Batten lands a nice elbow.
Nolan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Batten just stands there and leans against the cage.
Batten avoiding damage.

Batten breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Batten wants to clinch.
Nolan throws a series of punches but Batten moves out of range.

Batten closes the distance and clinches.
Nolan jumps guard but Batten stands there with Nolan around his waist. Nolan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Nolan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Batten lands an elbow inside.
Batten is trying to break the clinch but Nolan has him pressed against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Nolan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Batten just stands there and leans against the cage.
Batten wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nolan has him pressed against the cage.

Batten breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Batten tries to clinch there but Nolan circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Batten fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nolan, pushing him back against the cage.
Batten can't break the clinch.
Batten has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nolan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Batten manages to break the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nolan.

Nolan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Batten, who protects the arm well.
Nolan slows the pace down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Batten prevents Nolan from improving position.
Nolan advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nolan looking to secure an arm triangle but Batten defends it well.

Nolan wants to finish this one by submission but Batten is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nolan.
Nolan trying to control but Batten is having none of it.
Nolan avoids the attempt from Batten to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Batten is trying desperately to improve position.
Nolan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Batten is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Batten is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Batten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nolan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Batten is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Nolan is working for a guillotine from mount but Batten frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kalem Batten will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Nolan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Nolan wants to control from the top but Batten keeps moving.
Nolan tries to free his leg and advance position but Batten is retaining full guard.
Nolan prevents Batten from getting back to his feet.
Nolan wants to pass the guard but Batten is keeping the position.
Batten can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nolan controls the pace.
Batten is looking to stand up but Nolan isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nolan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Nolan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Batten connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Batten tries to keep at a distance but Nolan has taken the fight into the clinch.
Batten is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Nolan is keeping busy.

Batten breaks the clinch.
Sean Nolan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Batten is looking to clinch.

Batten has closed the distance and engaged Nolan in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Batten tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nolan smiles and moves away.

Nolan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nolan lands in his opponent's guard.
Nolan wants to control from the top but Batten keeps moving.
Nolan passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Nolan has hold of Batten's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Batten seems comfortable defending it but Nolan has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Batten is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Batten is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Nolan couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sean Nolan!
