Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Apollo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glover Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glover Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Apollo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Apollo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.
Silva is looking to get to half guard.
Silva's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Apollo will probably get the nod.

A nice inside leg kick there by Apollo. That's going to slow Silva down.
Horrible takedown by Apollo or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.

Apollo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silva uses from the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Silva connects with a nice short shot to Apollo's temple.

Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Silva is nestled in close to Apollo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Silva is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Apollo is hurt! He's hurt bad - Silva fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Apollo from any more punishment! Congratulations to Silva! Great finish!
