Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makosi Karolczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcos Costa is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcos Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Makosi Karolczak!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa with a lazy takedown attempt

and Karolczak counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Costa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karolczak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karolczak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Costa throws his legs up looking for a submission but Karolczak uses it to pass to side control.

Karolczak tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Costa is trying to reverse the position but instead Karolczak has taken his back - oops!
I really don't envy Costa right now.
Karolczak is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Karolczak has the hooks in. Costa is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
What can Costa do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Karolczak is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
