The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdonald drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mcdonald throwing strikes from guard but Gonzales blocks nicely.
Mcdonald throwing strikes but missing.
Gonzales has momentary wrist control but Mcdonald slips an elbow through the middle.
Gonzales wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mcdonald is now in half guard.
Mcdonald is thwarting Gonzales's attempts to control the position.
Gonzales keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Gonzales gets back to full guard.
Gonzales looking for a sweep. Not yet Gonzales, not yet.
Gonzales has his hands on Mcdonald's head, controlling the position.

Hector Gonzales has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Gonzales goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Trey Mcdonald has been cut.
Gonzales looks to throw the jab but Mcdonald is out of range.
Gonzales stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gonzales wants it to stay on the feet.
Gonzales lands a lovely overhand right.
Mcdonald takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gonzales slaps away a takedown attempt from Mcdonald, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Trey Mcdonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcdonald shoots and misses
and Gonzales counters with a thumping low kick.
Mcdonald has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Men of Mayhem in the buildup to the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trey Mcdonald. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mcdonald is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gonzales changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mcdonald fails to land the takedown.
Gonzales stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hector Gonzales is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gonzales throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mcdonald tries to clinch there but Gonzales circles away.
Gonzales lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Mcdonald can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Gonzales and Mcdonald drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Gonzales.
