PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moore comes to the cage accompanied by Frank Klepacki - March to doom. Susi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Metallica - Hero of the Day kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 3, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bobby Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keni Susi!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Susi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Moore has his hands clasped together around Susi's back. He's all about the action.

Susi is looking for a kimura here.

Susi wants to work for an arm triangle but Moore is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Moore is holding on to half guard well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Susi is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Moore to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Moore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Susi manages to get himself to full guard.
Susi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Susi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moore is aware though and is defending well.
We've been hearing good reports from Moore's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moore wants to control but Susi is keeping him busy.
Susi wants to improve his position but Moore is controlling well.
Moore tries to pass the half guard into mount. Susi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Moore has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Moore wants to control the pace but Susi is squirming around nicely.
Susi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Moore controlling his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Susi can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Moore will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Susi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Moore sprawls well initially but Susi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Moore tries to roll over but Susi keeps him under control.
Moore is trying to control but can't.
Moore regains full guard. Nicely done.

Moore makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Moore.
Susi passes Moore's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Moore gets full guard.
Susi looking to sit in guard and control but Moore gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Susi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Moore doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Susi is tightening it up a little... Moore has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Moore reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Moore taps out! Nice BJJ there by Susi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Keni Susi!
Keni Susi very nearly forgot to thank CEC Nutrition Q160 amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
