Rivera comes to the cage accompanied by My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Okay (I Promise). Buddie Rivera had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rivera. Rivera obviously looking to wear him down.
We've been hearing reports that Rivera has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Rivera throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Rivera throws a leg kick but Souza moved away.
Souza on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rivera. Rivera obviously looking to wear him down.

A nice inside leg kick there by Rivera. That's going to slow Souza down.

That kick from Rivera tenderised Souza's leg. Souza is trying to keep his angry face on.
Buddie Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rivera feints and then cracks Souza's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Souza down.
Both fighters circling a little - Rivera finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Rivera throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Rivera buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Rivera thuds his right hand into Souza's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looks like Matheus Souza has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rivera ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Rivera connects with a high kick.
Rivera fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Souza has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rivera lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Souza takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rivera chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rivera connects with a solid leg kick.
Souza takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Rivera! Souza is out on his feet! Rivera rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Souza is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Souza is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Buddie Rivera really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Heisenberg logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
