PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Bilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Szakul Ingwar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bilson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cant be touched!. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Bilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Szakul Ingwar!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bilson looks to score with a jab to the body but Ingwar is just out of range.
Ingwar misses with the combination.
Ingwar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ingwar shoots in for a takedown but Bilson shows good takedown defense.
Ingwar shoots in but no luck this time.
Tim Bilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Szakul Ingwar.
Ingwar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ingwar slips a straight right by Bilson.
Ingwar throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ingwar is looking to slow Bilson down with leg kicks.
Bilson blocks a head kick by Ingwar.
Bilson loads up on a big right hand but Ingwar slips the punch.
Ingwar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bilson as he jumps to the side.
Ingwar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bilson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ingwar is looking to clinch but Bilson is avoiding it.

Ingwar rushes Bilson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ingwar lands an elbow inside.
Ingwar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bilson smiles and moves away.

Bilson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bilson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ingwar looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ingwar postures up in Bilson's guard and throws a big left but Bilson blocks it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ingwar working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Bilson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bilson tries to get out of the position.
Ingwar throws a big right hand that misses.
Ingwar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ingwar wants to control from the top but Bilson keeps moving.

Ingwar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Szakul Ingwar wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ingwar moves in looking to clinch but Bilson pushes him off.
Ingwar shoots for a double leg takedown but Bilson sprawls well. He's pushed Ingwar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ingwar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bilson sprawls well. Bilson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ingwar gets slowly back to his feet.
Ingwar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bilson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bilson thows a body shot but no joy.
Bilson misses with a wild body shot.
Ingwar throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Ingwar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bilson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ingwar wants to clinch.
Ingwar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Ingwar.

Ingwar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bilson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bilson tries to buck Ingwar off but Ingwar is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bilson is working hard here to advance position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ingwar connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bilson some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Szakul Ingwar dominated that round.
That's time! Bilson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ingwar connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Ingwar lands with a nice combination. Bilson backs away looking to recover.
Bilson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ingwar.
Ingwar is looking to clinch but Bilson is avoiding it.
Ingwar fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ingwar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ingwar tries to clinch there but Bilson circles away.
Ingwar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bilson pinned against the cage. Bilson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bilson leaves Ingwar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ingwar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bilson throws a lazy right hand but Ingwar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bilson tries to keep at a distance but Ingwar has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ingwar has clasped his hands together around Bilson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bilson wants to control but Ingwar postures up.
Ingwar is looking to take a break and control but Bilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
I wouldn't like to be where Bilson is right now.

Ingwar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ingwar throws a strike aimed at the side of Bilson's head but Bilson avoids it well.
Bilson tries to bench press Ingwar off him but Ingwar keeps the position.

Well, if Ingwar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bilson is looking for a sweep. Ingwar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ingwar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Szakul Ingwar has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bilson preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Szakul Ingwar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Ingwar counters with a big head kick but Bilson shrugs it off.

Ingwar is looking to stand up but Bilson isn't so interested in that idea.
Tim Bilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bilson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ingwar looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Szakul Ingwar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ingwar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
