Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Carey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carey has chosen Big Poppa as his entrance music. Dan Carey is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dan Carey!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carey lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rua takes a step back to recover.
Carey scores with a takedown into Rua's guard.
Carey working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Carey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Carey trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rua, up you get!
Carey forces Rua back against the cage and clinches.
Rua prevents a takedown attempt there.
Rua is breathing heavily.
Carey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rua tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Carey drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Carey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Carey throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Carey forces his way into half guard.

Carey decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Rua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carey has Rua up against the cage in a clinch.
Rua is fighting off a takedown attempt but Carey is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rua to the mat. Rua regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Carey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Carey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Carey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Carey wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.
Carey stands and throws Rua's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Carey stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rua throws a head kick that misses.

Rua tries to clinch
and Carey counters with a takedown into side control.
Rua knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carey on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carey stands up.

and Carey counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rua's guard now.

Carey gets to his feet. Rua looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Carey drops Rua with a huge uppercut! Rua drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Carey is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
