Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ignatius Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Goodridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Gary Goodridge enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 11 - 2, fighting out of New York, Ignatius Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Gary Goodridge!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Reilly, right into the meat.
Reilly lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Reilly throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Goodridge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reilly tries to avoid it but Goodridge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reilly to the ground. Reilly escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Reilly pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reilly dodges the punch combination from Goodridge.
Reilly avoids the body shot from Goodridge.
Goodridge works the jab nicely.


It looks like Ignatius Reilly has been cut.
Reilly swings for the body but Goodridge moves out of range.
Reilly scores with a nice body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Reilly lands with a good body shot.
Reilly throws a head kick but Goodridge moves out of range.
Goodridge takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Reilly pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Goodridge works Reilly's body with a nice hook.
Reilly takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Reilly slaps away a takedown attempt from Goodridge, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Goodridge comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Goodridge feints and as Reilly raises his hands in defense, Goodridge changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Goodridge is looking to work some ground and pound but Reilly has wrist control.
Goodridge throws a big elbow that misses.
Reilly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goodridge is one step ahead there.
Reilly utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Goodridge lands a couple of elbows.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reilly is on top in guard.

Goodridge is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Goodridge is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Reilly seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ignatius Reilly just wasn't active enough.
Goodridge darts in looking for a takedown but Reilly gets double underhooks and turns Goodridge into the cage.

Goodridge wants the takedown. Reilly is fighting it off but Goodridge persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Reilly's guard against the cage.

Reilly is really struggling to control Goodridge but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Goodridge throws a strike but Reilly rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Goodridge is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Ignatius Reilly has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Goodridge shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reilly as he avoids it easily.

No joy there for Goodridge, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reilly can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Goodridge is looking to escape.

Goodridge thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reilly's head.
Goodridge not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Goodridge looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reilly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Goodridge is stalling here. Reilly is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Goodridge seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Reilly has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
