The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Valley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valley is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nyrkki has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Nyrkki keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Valley controlling the pace for now.
Nyrkki tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Valley looking to control but Nyrkki is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Valley wants to take his opponent's back but Nyrkki doesn't allow it.

Valley has the hooks in. Nyrkki is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Valley is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Valley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nyrkki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
