Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elliot Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Graves comes into the arena with Alvarez blaring out of the sound system. Elliot Saunders is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Doug Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elliot Saunders!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders closes the distance and clinches up with Graves, looking for a takedown. Saunders pushes Graves against the cage but Graves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Graves moves out of range of the strikes.
Saunders throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Graves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Graves.

Saunders manages to pull guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Graves passes Saunders's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Saunders wants to sweep but Graves has passed to side control!
You can see the frustration on Saunders's face as Graves controls the position.
Saunders is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Graves has control of an arm but Saunders manages to advance to Graves's back!
Saunders is trying to stick to Graves's back but Graves is turning into Saunders. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Saunders's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Graves.
Graves trying to control but Saunders is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Graves sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Graves has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Saunders is trying to keep Graves in close.
Saunders keeping moving, preventing Graves from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Doug Graves wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Saunders dives in and grabs Graves's left leg, looking for a takedown. Graves pushes down on Saunders's head and hops out.
Saunders throws a body punch but Graves moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Graves ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've been told by Graves's head coaches at The Barracks - LOD that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Saunders has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Graves.
Graves displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Saunders throws out the jab.
Saunders shoots in for a takedown but Graves shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Doug Graves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elliot Saunders.
Graves lunges at Saunders with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Saunders's hand.


It looks like Elliot Saunders has been cut.
Graves takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A jab from Saunders finds it's way through Graves's defenses.


It looks like Doug Graves has been cut.
Graves lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Graves throws out a powerful jab.
Both fighters circling a little - Graves finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Saunders looks winded!
Graves stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Graves wants it to stay on the feet.
Graves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Saunders misses with a takedown attempt - Graves sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Saunders takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Graves throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Saunders chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Graves can pounce on him.
Graves pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Saunders back to the cage. Graves follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Graves connects with an inside leg kick.
Saunders takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Saunders takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Doug Graves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Graves. That's going to slow Saunders down.
A slapping body kick lands there for Graves.
Graves throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Graves throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Saunders looks to land a left hand but Graves moved out of range nicely.
Saunders has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Graves finds it's way round the side to connect with Saunders's head.


That has opened up Elliot Saunders's cut even more.
Graves thumps Saunders with a low kick.
Elliot Saunders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saunders stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Graves.
That kick from Graves tenderised Saunders's leg. Saunders is trying to keep his angry face on.
Graves throws a quick inside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Graves throws a good cross that connects.
Saunders's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Graves connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Saunders scrambles back to his feet.
Saunders is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Graves doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Saunders crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Saunders's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doug Graves!
Doug Graves decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
