The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tippin throws a body punch but Sparta moves out of range.

Diziz Sparta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sparta lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Sparta moves forwards but Tippin connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Sparta tries to close the distance and clinch but Tippin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sparta has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Sparta feints and then cracks Tippin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tippin down.

Tippin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sparta paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tippin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tippin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You get the feeling that Sparta really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Tippin wants to control the pace but Sparta is squirming around nicely.
Sparta is bucking up trying to escape but Tippin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
