The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparrrrrow throws a low kick but it's checked well by Diaz.

Sparrrrrow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diaz to the mat! Diaz manages to get full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sparrrrrow is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diaz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sparrrrrow.

Sparrrrrow throws a body kick that misses.
Sparrrrrow feints and then cracks Diaz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Diaz down.
Sparrrrrow throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it.
Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown but Sparrrrrow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Diaz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That kick from Sparrrrrow tenderised Diaz's leg. Diaz is trying to keep his angry face on.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joseph Diaz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
