The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lerner.
Lerner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tebow defends it nicely.

Tebow gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tebow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lerner keeps working.
Tebow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lerner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lerner is trying to control but can't.
Tebow blocks the strikes from Lerner.
Lerner is looking for a sweep. Tebow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tebow wants to take a breather but Lerner is having none of it.
Tebow slips a nice elbow through Lerner's hands, connecting with Lerner's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tebow frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lerner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
A nice elbow there by Tebow.
Tebow loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lerner scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Tebow land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Tebow stands and salutes the crowd.

After winning the bout, Tim Tebow thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
