A fine choice. Alan Bird could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chris Weidman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Weidman!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird throws a right and a left that both miss.
Weidman tries to clinch up but Bird circles away and keeps his distance.

Bird wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Weidman is now in half guard.

Bird shoots in looking for a takedown. Weidman tries to sprawl out of it but Bird keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Weidman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bird closes the distance and clinches up with Weidman, looking for a takedown. Bird pushes Weidman against the cage but Weidman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Weidman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bird can't fight it off and eventually Weidman manages to take the fight to the floor. Bird looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Let's hope that Weidman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
