Searlas has chosen I'm Shipping up to Boston as his entrance music. Shaquille Oneal has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneal chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Searlas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Oneal.
Searlas throws a series of strikes that have Oneal backpedaling.
It looks like Shaquille Oneal has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Searlas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Oneal.
Searlas is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Oneal's half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Searlas working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oneal wants to control but Searlas is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Searlas lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Oneal has hold of Searlas's hands but Searlas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Oneal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Searlas is working away from the top position though.
Oneal is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Searlas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Searlas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Searlas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A jab-cross combination lands for Searlas and sends Oneal crashing to the mat! Searlas follows him down to the mat - Oneal regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Oneal is rocked!
Shaquille Oneal's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shaquille Oneal's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
