Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blue clear sky. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Simmons defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Anderson.
Simmons doesn't manage to clinch there - Anderson circles away.
Simmons ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Anderson misses with a takedown attempt - Simmons sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fight stays on the outside here - Simmons looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sparky Anderson will probably get the nod.

Anderson is trying to trip Simmons. He has hold of a leg but Simmons is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Anderson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Anderson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Simmons is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Anderson, into his guard.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sparky Anderson.
I think Simmons has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
