Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Artesero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Stromeister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artesero's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Three Six Mafia- It's a fight. Simon Stromeister looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Artesero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Simon Stromeister!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stromeister stuffs the takedown attempt from Artesero. Artesero gets slowly back to his feet.
Stromeister looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Artesero wants to clinch.

Stromeister swats away the attempt to clinch by Artesero.
Artesero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Artesero dives in for a single leg takedown but Stromeister sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Artesero is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Stromeister is defending well for now.
Artesero is trying to pull guard but Stromeister has him pressed against the cage.

Artesero pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Artesero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Artesero lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stromeister enables Artesero to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stromeister manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Artesero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stromeister works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stromeister keeping moving, preventing Artesero from controlling successfully.
Artesero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Artesero throws a leg kick which misses Stromeister's front leg but catches the back leg as Stromeister tries to avoid it.

Artesero throws a series of punches but Stromeister avoids them all with ease.
Artesero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stromeister paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Artesero throws a head kick that Stromeister semi-blocks.
Artesero lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Simon Stromeister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Artesero connects with a solid leg kick.
Stromeister is still on wobbly legs! Can Artesero finish him?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Artesero manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stromeister on his heels. He'll look to pass Stromeister's guard now, I'm sure.

Artesero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Artesero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Diego Artesero wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Artesero shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stromeister napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Artesero tries for a kimura but Stromeister is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Stromeister's face as Artesero controls the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Artesero misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Stromeister takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
A lull in the action here.
Artesero is looking to take a break and control but Stromeister is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stromeister is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Artesero asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Artesero is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Stromeister looks calm but he's in trouble here. Artesero gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Stromeister is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Artesero lets go of the hold and Stromeister can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Diego Artesero!
Our winner, Diego Artesero, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
