The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabrial misses with a double jab.
Silva buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Silva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gabrial in his tracks.
Gabrial changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Gabrial manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

It looks like James Gabrial has been cut.
Silva throws a right and a left that Gabrial avoids nicely.
Gabrial looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Silva lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Gabrial manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Silva on his heels. He'll look to pass Silva's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gabrial drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Gabrial turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Silva off and cradles Gabrial's limp body as Silva celebrates with his corner.
