PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adam Ash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hugh Jackman struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Jackman!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ash drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Ash drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jackman dives on top into guard.
Ash striking off his back but it's not causing Jackman any problems.
Jackman is looking to stand up but Ash won't let him.

Ash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ash will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jackman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ash is proving hard to escape from.

Jackman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jackman wants to stand and escape but instead Ash has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Ash missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Ash trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ash postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ash seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
