Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Droski De La Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesley Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Warriors kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Droski De La Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wesley Price!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price fails with a takedown attempt.

De La Cruz has taken the fight to the clinch.
De La Cruz misses with a punch on the inside.

De La Cruz has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Price is trying to keep an underhook but De La Cruz manages to get the takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
De La Cruz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Price does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
De La Cruz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Price is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De La Cruz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De La Cruz's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Price is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
De La Cruz tries to roll over but Price keeps him under control.
De La Cruz regains full guard. Nicely done.
De La Cruz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Price has gone for a leg lock! De La Cruz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Price's guard.

De La Cruz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
De La Cruz wants to pass the guard but Price is keeping the position.

De La Cruz looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Price looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
De La Cruz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Droski De La Cruz just wasn't active enough.

Price scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De La Cruz is trying to control Price's posture but Price avoids it.

Price is trying to get an arm triangle but De La Cruz is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Droski De La Cruz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Price closes this distance looking for a takedown but De La Cruz circles away.
Price fails with the takedown.

Droski De La Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wesley Price.
Price darts in looking for a takedown but De La Cruz gets double underhooks and turns Price into the cage.

De La Cruz turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

De La Cruz is trying to get an arm triangle but Price is defending well.

De La Cruz is working to tighten his grip on Price's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Price has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but De La Cruz is really squeezing tight and eventually Price passes out! De La Cruz breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
