The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacKenzie throws a low kick but Almeida avoids it.
MacKenzie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Almeida moves away.

MacKenzie has managed to clinch.
Almeida lands with a short shot to the head.

Almeida pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Almeida fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with MacKenzie, pushing him back against the cage.
Almeida lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Mac MacKenzie has been cut.
Almeida scores with a shoulder strike.
MacKenzie wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
MacKenzie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Almeida cracks MacKenzie with a nice body shot.

Almeida escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Almeida cracks MacKenzie with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Almeida has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning MacKenzie to stand back up!

MacKenzie is rocked!
Almeida lands a body shot.
MacKenzie is still on wobbly legs! Can Almeida finish him?
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Almeida swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Almeida has closed the distance and engaged MacKenzie in a clinch.

Almeida breaks the clinch.
MacKenzie seems to have recovered his senses.
Almeida darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! MacKenzie's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Almeida before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Thiago Almeida decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
