Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cooper Abreu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ten Sixteen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abreu comes into the arena with Die for Metal blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cooper Abreu!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ten Sixteen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sixteen throws a leg kick

and Abreu counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Abreu is pressing down on Sixteen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sixteen is holding on for now.
Abreu scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sixteen is trying to get back to full guard.
Abreu trying to advance position but Sixteen counters by regaining guard.
Abreu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sixteen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Abreu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sixteen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Abreu.
Abreu tries to free his leg and advance position but Sixteen is retaining full guard.

Sixteen has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Abreu has passed into side control.
Sixteen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Abreu is looking to take a break and control but Sixteen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sixteen tries to bench press Abreu off him but Abreu keeps the position.
Abreu tries to score with some ground and pound. Sixteen controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sixteen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Abreu off and has taken his back!

Sixteen working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sixteen controlling well, preventing Abreu from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sixteen gets his hands free as Abreu looks to control.
Abreu tries to escape the position.
Sixteen misses with a punch to the head.
Abreu rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Abreu looking for a kimura from the bottom but Sixteen passes into side control!

Sixteen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sixteen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Abreu has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sixteen but great work by Abreu.

Abreu throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Sixteen works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Sixteen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooper Abreu dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Abreu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

and Sixteen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Abreu's knee momentarily.
Abreu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Abreu moves out of range of the leg kick from Sixteen.
Sixteen throws a lazy head kick

and Abreu counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Sixteen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Abreu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sixteen throws a punch but it's blocked by Abreu.
Abreu blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sixteen is looking for a takedown.
Sixteen stalling in the clinch.
Sixteen misses with the head strike.
Sixteen tries for a takedown but Abreu manages to get underhooks.

Sixteen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Abreu lands with a slapping head kick.

Abreu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Abreu tries a head kick but it misses.
Abreu throws a head kick but Sixteen moves out of range.
Sixteen slips under a jab.
Abreu misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sixteen misses with a head kick.
Abreu avoids the head kick by Sixteen.
Abreu throws a sloppy head kick and Sixteen moves out of range easily.
Sixteen tests Abreu's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Abreu moves out of range of the body kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Abreu. Sixteen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice uppercut there from Abreu.
Sixteen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Abreu.
Sixteen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Sixteen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Abreu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Abreu tries to close the distance and clinch but Sixteen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sixteen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Abreu on his heels. He'll look to pass Abreu's guard now, I'm sure.
Abreu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Abreu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sixteen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Abreu is just content to waste time from the top position. Sixteen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Sixteen wants to control the position but Abreu says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Sixteen looking for a guillotine here but Abreu defends easily.

Sixteen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abreu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sixteen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Abreu uses it to pass to side control.
Sixteen can't do much from the bottom here.
Abreu wants to control but Sixteen is keeping him busy.
Abreu connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sixteen some visible discomfort.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Abreu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sixteen, who protects the arm well.
Sixteen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Abreu's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooper Abreu dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Abreu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Abreu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Good work by Abreu as he checks the leg kick.
Abreu misses with an uppercut.
Both fighters circling a little - Sixteen finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Sixteen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abreu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abreu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sixteen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Abreu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sixteen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Abreu escapes and throws Sixteen's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Sixteen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Abreu lands an elbow.
Abreu connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sixteen some visible discomfort.
Abreu in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Abreu landing a few strikes.


Sixteen is rocked!
Sixteen taking punishment in the form of punches.
Sixteen is still in real trouble! Can Abreu finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Abreu cracks Sixteen with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Abreu immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Sixteen is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Abreu!
