Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Wangu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wangu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Wangu misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Smith rushes Wangu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wangu looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wangu can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Wangu looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Smith makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Wangu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Wangu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Smith is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Wangu rolls with it to try and escape but Smith cranks on the arm and Wangu is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
