The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Awn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Townsend.

and Awn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Townsend accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Awn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Awn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Townsend escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Awn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Awn lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Townsend backs up against the cage.

Awn circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Townsend drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Awn follows Townsend to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
