Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cornelius Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michal Karpecny!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Karpecny swivels and escapes.
Robinson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Robinson closes the distance and clinches up with Karpecny, looking for a takedown. Robinson pushes Karpecny against the cage but Karpecny circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cornelius Robinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karpecny tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Robinson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cornelius Robinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karpecny doesn't manage to clinch there - Robinson circles away.

Robinson has managed to clinch.

Robinson is trying to trip Karpecny. He has hold of a leg but Karpecny is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Robinson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Robinson passes Karpecny's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Robinson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Karpecny defends it well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Karpecny can do anything to dispel that myth.
Robinson is looking to take a break and control but Karpecny is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Robinson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Karpecny sees it coming and defends easily.

Robinson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Karpecny sprawls well. Karpecny wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Robinson gets slowly back to his feet.

Robinson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karpecny can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Karpecny controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cornelius Robinson.
Karpecny stuffs the takedown.
Karpecny lands a really nice looking cross but Robinson seems unphased.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Robinson takes a kick to the side of the head.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Robinson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karpecny sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Robinson somewhat.
Karpecny moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Robinson throws a low kick but Karpecny avoids it.
Karpecny will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Karpecny throws a head kick that misses.
Karpecny throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Karpecny throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Robinson's waist but Robinson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karpecny off to one side.

Karpecny keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Karpecny looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robinson is fending him off so far but Karpecny persists. Nope, Robinson circles away and we're back to standing.

No joy there for Karpecny, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Karpecny lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Robinson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Karpecny.

Robinson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Karpecny's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Karpecny's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Robinson successfully pulls guard.
Karpecny throws a big right hand that misses.
Robinson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Karpecny is looking to stand up but Robinson won't let him.

Robinson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Karpecny is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Robinson has Karpecny pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Robinson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Karpecny tumbling to the mat - Robinson dives into Karpecny's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
