Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Orlando Menez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lang Langston!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langston lands a nice shot to the body.
Langston throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Menez.
Langston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Langston lands with a nice combination. Menez backs away looking to recover.
A left lands for Langston.
Menez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Langston.
Langston connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Menez momentarily.
Langston throws a combination. Menez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Menez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Langston to the mat! Langston manages to get full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Langston can do anything to dispel that myth.
Menez is working Langston over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Langston wants to get back to his feet but Menez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Menez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Menez drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Menez seems to have locked his on tight now - Langston screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Menez, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Orlando Menez!
A relieved looking Orlando Menez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
