Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Schmierer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Schmierer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Guns n Roses - Get in the Ring. Jack Daniels told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Schmierer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmierer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Daniels walks forward, straight into a front kick from Schmierer.
Daniels takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Schmierer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Daniels avoids it really well and circles away.
Schmierer throws a sloppy head kick and Daniels moves out of range easily.
Schmierer misses with a low kick.
Daniels scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Schmierer shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Daniels fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Schmierer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Daniels - the referee stops the clock and Schmierer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Daniels. Schmierer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Schmierer throws a low kick, looking for Daniels's leg but Daniels calmly moves out of range.
Adam Schmierer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daniels rushes Schmierer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Schmierer has Daniels pressed against the cage, preventing Daniels from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Schmierer on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Schmierer wants to take the fight to the mat but Daniels manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Daniels creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Daniels looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Schmierer wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Schmierer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schmierer can't get the takedown.
Schmierer is trying to drag Daniels to the mat but Daniels just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Schmierer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Daniels fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Schmierer is breathing heavily.
Schmierer shoots in for a double leg but Daniels sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Daniels cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Horrible takedown by Schmierer or perhaps it was just good defense by Daniels which made him look bad.

Both fighters circling a little - Daniels finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Daniels lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Schmierer is looking to close the distance but Daniels sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Schmierer crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Schmierer is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
