The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ioptoa throws a right and a left that Baskas avoids nicely.
Ioptoa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ioptoa throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Baskas doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ioptoa counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Baskas is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ioptoa slaps away a takedown attempt from Baskas, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ioptoa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Baskas throws out the jab.
Baskas takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Baskas has been working on his balance at MMA Power gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Ioptoa.
A bone on bone clash there as Baskas blocks the leg kick.

Ioptoa has Baskas pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ioptoa pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Baskas tumbling to the mat - Ioptoa dives into Baskas's guard.
Ioptoa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Baskas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ioptoa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Baskas wants to sweep here but Ioptoa controlling him for the moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ioptoa throws a leg kick but Baskas sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Baskas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ioptoa but Ioptoa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ioptoa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Baskas misses with a takedown attempt - Ioptoa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Ioptoa counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Baskas to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Ioptoa!
