Damage kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Burritos - by Sublime. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Coffey. Damage does a little dance to reset his feet.

Damage looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Coffey!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coffey wants to control but Damage postures up.
Damage trying to control the position but Coffey is working away.
Coffey parries the strikes from Damage easily there. Damage is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Coffey to escape.

Damage remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Coffey tries to buck Damage off but Damage is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Max Damage.
Coffey scores with a hook to the body. Damage takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've been told by Damage's head coaches at Ludus Magnus that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Coffey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Coffey wants it to stay on the feet.
Coffey lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Max Damage has been cut.
Coffey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Damage manages to avoid it.

Coffey gets caught flat footed, as Damage shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Coffey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Damage is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Coffey misses with a head shot.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coffey unloads with some shots from mount but Damage bucks and avoids them well.
Coffey thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Coffey misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coffey forces Damage back against the cage and clinches.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Coffey. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Damage with a nice head shot there.
Damage stopping the sweep attempt from Coffey.
Max Damage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Damage pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Coffey is keeping the position for now.

Damage is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Damage wants to control from the top but Coffey keeps moving.
Coffey pulls Damage in close to prevent any damage.

Damage is in close to Coffey's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Coffey fails with an attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Coffey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Damage fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coffey avoids it really well and circles away.

Damage shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Coffey's guard.

Coffey steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Damage is out on his feet! Coffey sets himself and nearly takes Damage's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Coffey!
