Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Hamsik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamsik doesn't manage to clinch there - Stanley circles away.
Hamsik is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Stanley throws a right hand that Hamsik ducks under and follows up with a left that Hamsik also avoids with ease.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hamsik.
Stanley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hamsik looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Stanley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Stanley closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hamsik did well to prevent Stanley getting side control.
Hamsik holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Stanley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hamsik does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hamsik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stanley is on top in guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Shinya Stanley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

John Hamsik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hamsik shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stanley pinned against the cage. Stanley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Stanley has had enough of the clinch but Hamsik keeps him there for the moment.

Stanley looks up at the clock and then as Hamsik takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stanley smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Stanley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hamsik has escaped the position, nice work there.

Stanley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hamsik keeps working.
Hamsik manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stanley's best efforts.
Hamsik is looking for a sweep. Stanley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Stanley stops Hamsik from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hamsik looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Stanley on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

John Hamsik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stanley lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hamsik backwards.

Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shinya Stanley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stanley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
