PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Belo Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and SasH Hemingway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Belo Me!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, SasH Hemingway!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Me shoots in and gets a takedown into Hemingway's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Me tries to free his leg and advance position but Hemingway is retaining full guard.
Me trying to control but Hemingway is working from the bottom.

Hemingway is looking for a triangle but Me pushes his legs off easily.
Me missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hemingway looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Me has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hemingway escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Me gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hemingway can't keep his opponent in guard - Me advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Hemingway tries to get to full guard but Me has control of the leg.

Me is looking for a kimura but Hemingway is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Me to get the leverage.

Hemingway is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Me pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hemingway manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hemingway working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Me doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Me manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Me stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hemingway swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hemingway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Me defends it easily.
Me advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Me wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hemingway keeps working.
Hemingway manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Me thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hemingway wants to improve his position but Me is controlling well.
Me throwing shots but Hemingway is blocking nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hemingway avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Me.
Hemingway works his way to full guard. Good work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Me tries to free his leg and advance position but Hemingway is retaining full guard.
Me won't allow Hemingway to sweep him here.
Me wants to control from the top but Hemingway keeps moving.
Me passes into half guard.

Me is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hemingway slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Hemingway is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Me is aware though and is defending well.
Hemingway keeping moving, preventing Me from controlling successfully.

Hemingway looking for a guillotine here but Me defends easily.

Me got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hemingway has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Me has managed to get both his arms back between Hemingway's legs - danger averted.

Hemingway has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Me can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hemingway looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Me has picked Hemingway up and slammed him! Hemingway can't keep hold of the triangle and Me manages to pass to side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hemingway is looking to reverse the position.

Me is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hemingway is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hemingway manages to work his way to half guard, despite Me's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Me prevents Hemingway from standing back up.
Hemingway avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Me.
Hemingway makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hemingway.

Me drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Me jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

SasH Hemingway dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Hemingway feints and as Me raises his hands in defense, Hemingway changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
SasH Hemingway has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hemingway throwing strikes from guard but Me blocks nicely.
Me is trying to keep Hemingway in close.
Me managing to control the position.
Hemingway lands a couple of digs.
Me has momentary wrist control but Hemingway slips an elbow through the middle.
Hemingway makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hemingway lands a couple of decent looking shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hemingway is in close to Me's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Hemingway throws a sloppy strike and Me has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Hemingway is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Me!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Belo Me!
Belo Me decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
