Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Hassel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitchell Pearsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Hassel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mitchell Pearsen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearsen wants to clinch.
Hassel has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team 907 Assassins in the buildup to the fight.
Hassel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pearsen moves away.
Hassel throws a front kick aimed at Pearsen's knee but Pearsen avoids it well.
Hassel throws a jab but it's blocked by Pearsen.
Pearsen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hassel manages to avoid it.
Pearsen jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pearsen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hassel is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Good leg kick by Hassel there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pearsen tries to close the distance and clinch but Hassel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hassel moves out of range as Pearsen strikes.
Pearsen doesn't manage to clinch there - Hassel circles away.
Hassel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Mitchell Pearsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hassel throws a front kick aimed at Pearsen's knee but Pearsen avoids it well.

Pearsen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Hassel will probably get the nod.

Pearsen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hassel walks away with a smile on his face. Pearsen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pearsen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hassel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pearsen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hassel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hassel lands the left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hassel. Pearsen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hassel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pearsen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hassel scrambles back to his feet.

and Hassel counters with a left to the body.
Pearsen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hassel connects with a body shot that sends Pearsen's belly button to the back.
Pearsen tries to clinch up but Hassel circles away and keeps his distance.
Pearsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hassel swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Hassel.
I think Hassel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
