Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Kelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen Crawling in the Dark as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Felipe Kelvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Scott!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kelvin.
Scott is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Scott closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Scott wants to take the fight to the mat but Kelvin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Scott manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Scott is defended easily by Kelvin.
Scott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kelvin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scott sprawls well. Scott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kelvin gets slowly back to his feet.
Kelvin moves out of range of the body kick from Scott.
Kelvin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kelvin throws a right hand that Scott ducks under and follows up with a left that Scott also avoids with ease.

Kelvin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Scott!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Scott struggling a bit here.
Scott is looking to reverse the position.
Kelvin is chipping away with strikes.
Kelvin is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scott sneaks back into half guard.
Scott is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scott wants to get back to his feet.

Scott has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Felipe Kelvin.
Kelvin closes the distance and clinches up with Scott, looking for a takedown. Kelvin pushes Scott against the cage but Scott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felipe Kelvin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kelvin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Scott wants to control from the top but Kelvin keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Scott moves out of range as Kelvin throws a body kick.
Kelvin darts in looking for a takedown but Scott gets double underhooks and turns Kelvin into the cage.

Scott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Scott doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kelvin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Scott wants to stand but Kelvin is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Felipe Kelvin will probably get the nod.

Scott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kelvin circles away quickly and effectively.
Felipe Kelvin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kelvin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Scott defends it nicely.
Scott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Scott throws a head kick but Kelvin moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scott moves in looking to clinch but Kelvin pushes him off.

Scott looks to land a combination. Kelvin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Scott wants to clinch up but Kelvin keeps it at a distance.
Kelvin shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kelvin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Scott is just riding it out for now. Kelvin eventually gives up the hold.
Scott tries to kick Kelvin off but Kelvin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Scott is breathing heavily.

Scott is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Scott tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kelvin has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scott tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Scott is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Scott is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kelvin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Scott takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kelvin tries to push Scott's head away but Scott is holding on tight.
Kelvin wants to control the pace but Scott is squirming around nicely.
Kelvin avoids the attempt from Scott to control.

Kelvin stands up from mount. Strange move.
Kelvin tries to clinch but Scott moves out of range.

Kelvin throws a nice looking combination but Scott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kelvin as he avoids it easily.
Scott tries to clinch up.
Scott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kelvin throws a push kick but Scott slaps the foot to one side.
Scott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kelvin but Kelvin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kelvin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Scott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Scott circles away from the clinch attempt.

Felipe Kelvin dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Scott defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kelvin.
Kelvin dives in for a single leg takedown but Scott sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Scott has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kelvin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelvin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Kelvin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Scott is trying to stand back up but Kelvin is controlling him
Scott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Scott tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kelvin prevents Scott from improving his position.

Kelvin is trying to control. Scott wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Scott wants to get back to his feet.
Felipe Kelvin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kelvin moves nicely into side control.
Scott on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Kelvin laying and praying for a moment but Scott takes advantage and regains half guard.

Kelvin is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Scott is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
