The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noitalahti keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Noitalahti moves out of range of the body kick.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Noitalahti!
Light shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Noitalahti defends it nicely.
Light tries a head kick but it misses.
Noitalahti scores with a crisp jab that stopped Light in his tracks.
Light shoots in for a takedown but Noitalahti shows good takedown defense.

Light shoots and misses

and Noitalahti counters with a head kick that drops Light to the mat! Light scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Light looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Noitalahti is fending him off so far but Light persists. Nope, Noitalahti circles away and we're back to standing.

Noitalahti fakes the leg kick and cracks Light in the body.
Noitalahti misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

so Light counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Light postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Light passes Noitalahti's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Light is looking for a kimura but Noitalahti is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Light to get the leverage.
Noitalahti tries to kick Light off but Light keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Light winds up and cracks Noitalahti with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Noitalahti is trying to stand up here but Light is controlling him well.
Noitalahti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Light. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Light is trying to control. Noitalahti wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've been hearing that Light has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Light wants to advance to full mount but Noitalahti doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Noitalahti utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Light trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Noitalahti keeping moving, preventing Light from controlling successfully.

Light throws an elbow that misses. Noitalahti uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Light's guard. Nice move by Noitalahti!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Light wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Noitalahti is now in half guard.
Light wants to control but Noitalahti is keeping busy.
Light has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Light is looking to improve his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Light is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Noitalahti doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Light.

Light has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Noitalahti defend it? Light steps over the head and cranks it - Noitalahti is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Light!
