The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liljedahl throws a head kick but Mendez moves out of range.
Sven Liljedahl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A decent looking cross lands there for Liljedahl.
Liljedahl dodges the punch combination from Mendez.
We've been told by Liljedahl's head coaches at The Stray Dogs that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mendez takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Liljedahl looks to land a left hand but Mendez moved out of range nicely.

Mendez lands with a hook. Liljedahl tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Mendez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Liljedahl.

Liljedahl tries to score with a low kick but Mendez moves his leg out of the way.

Liljedahl feints and then cracks Mendez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mendez down.

Mendez walks forward, straight into a front kick from Liljedahl.
Mendez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Liljedahl lands a big head kick that sends Mendez tumbling to the mat! Liljedahl takes a step backwards and waves Mendez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Mendez is rocked!
Mendez is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Liljedahl doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Mendez crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Mendez's bad books for that mishap!
