Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rothstien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ty Webb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Rothstien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ty Webb!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Webb closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rothstien letting Webb take a breather here.
Webb takes an elbow to the temple.
Webb's coach down at 11th Planet Fitness ($100/wk) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Webb's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Webb wants to break the clinch but can't.

Webb has had enough of the clinch but Rothstien keeps him there for the moment.
Webb drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rothstien tries to break the clinch but Webb is controlling the position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rothstien wants to improve his position but Webb is controlling well.

Webb wants to stand but Rothstien is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sam Rothstien has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rothstien closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rothstien lands in his opponent's guard.
Rothstien stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Webb swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nice takedown defense from Rothstien. No joy for Webb on that attempt.

Webb gets caught napping as Rothstien dives in and scores a takedown. Webb manages to retain guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rothstien is looking to take a break and control but Webb is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rothstien seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Webb wants to control but Rothstien is keeping busy.

Webb manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rothstien manages to get himself to full guard.

Rothstien had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Webb defends it easily.
Webb is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rothstien pulls Webb in close to prevent any damage.

Rothstien looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Rothstien tries to keep at a distance but Webb has taken the fight into the clinch.

Webb seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rothstien does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rothstien has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Webb is working away from the top position though.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Webb tries to stand and escape but Rothstien actually recovers to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Webb is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sam Rothstien will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Webb tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rothstien swivels and escapes.
Webb swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
No luck for Rothstien with that takedown attempt.
Sam Rothstien is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Webb changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Rothstien has managed to clinch.

Webb breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rothstien shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Webb pinned against the cage. Webb gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Webb stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rothstien swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Webb looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Webb shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rothstien defends it nicely.
Rothstien slaps away a takedown attempt from Webb, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Webb misses with a double jab.

Webb shoots in but no luck this time.
Rothstien lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Webb takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Webb fails with the takedown.
Rothstien tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Webb defends well and Rothstien ends up having to push Webb into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rothstien is pressed up against the cage. Webb has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rothstien down to the mat. Rothstien avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Webb tries to reverse the position but Rothstien maintains control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ty Webb has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sam Rothstien is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rothstien wants to control the pace but Webb is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sam Rothstien.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rothstien, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
