Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Casy Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver's entrance music is Bon Jovi - It's my life. A fine choice. Newton has chosen wild boy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Casy Carver had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casy Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Newton!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton misses with a takedown attempt
and Carver counters with a nice kick to the body.

Newton looking to score a takedown here. Carver is defending well but Newton drives through and ends up in Carver's guard.
Carver will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Newton prevents Carver from getting back to his feet.
Carver seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Newton slips nicely into half guard.

Newton is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Carver still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Carver has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Carver content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Newton pushes Carver away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Carver gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Newton wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Carver wants to control but Newton is keeping him busy.

Carver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Carver rushes Newton and presses him up against the cage.
Carver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Newton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Carver lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Carver pushes off an throws an elbow but Newton leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Carver drags the fight down to the ground.
Carver seems keen to control Newton's posture.

Newton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carver is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Newton, into his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carver stands and steps away. Newton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Newton shoots in looking for a takedown. Carver tries to sprawl out of it but Newton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carver manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Casy Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Newton.

Newton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Carver wants to get back to full guard.

Newton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Newton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carver is just riding it out for now. Newton eventually gives up the hold.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Carver misses with a takedown attempt - Newton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Newton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Carver has taken the fight to the clinch.

Newton has gone for a leg lock! Carver slips out almost immediately though and dives into Newton's guard.

Newton wants to take the fight to the mat but Carver manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Carver makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carver closes the distance and pushes Newton back into the cage.
Carver throws an elbow but it misses.
Newton is pressed up against the cage. Carver has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Newton down to the mat. Newton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Carver moves into range and clinches up with Newton.

Carver's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carver fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Newton, pushing him back against the cage.

Newton has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carver after a bit of a struggle.

Carver rushes Newton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Newton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carver is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Carver manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Carver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Newton is controlling him.

Newton drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Newton as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Carver screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Newton! Nice submission victory there!

Max Newton got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
Casy Carver spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm not myself today , sorry - I will show real me at the next show ! '.
