The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gun tries to clinch up.

Santos gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gun gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gun decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Santos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gun escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Santos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Santos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Santos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gun flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Gun is defending against the submission attempts here by Santos.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gun really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gun gets to his feet. Santos looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Gun shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santos but Santos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Evandro Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Gun.

Santos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Santos seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Santos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gun looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Santos swings around for an armbar but Gun sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Santos's guard.

Gun stands and steps away. Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gun has taken the fight to the clinch.

Santos has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gun clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Santos is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
