Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between CJ Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirill Chernicin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chernicin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rose drives through and clinches with Chernicin against the cage.
Chernicin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rose after a bit of a struggle.
Rose blocks the elbow strike.
Chernicin is trying to pull guard but Rose turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Rose got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chernicin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rose has managed to get both his arms back between Chernicin's legs - danger averted.

Rose stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chernicin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. CJ Rose wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Rose shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rose lands strikes from half guard.
Chernicin wants to control but Rose is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Rose seems content to control.
Rose lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chernicin is looking to escape.

Rose postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Chernicin to stand up.

Rose avoids the head kick by Chernicin.
Chernicin darts in looking for a takedown but Rose gets double underhooks and turns Chernicin into the cage.

Rose tries a head kick but it misses.
Rose throws a nice looking combination but Chernicin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Chernicin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rose swivels though and keeps the full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rose is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Rose feints and as Chernicin raises his hands in defense, Rose changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

CJ Rose overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Chernicin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rose's waist but Rose gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chernicin off to one side.

Chernicin goes for a double leg but Rose avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rose continues to drive forward.
