Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between jd Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Beiramar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Fernando Beiramar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beiramar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thomas is trying to defend but Beiramar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Thomas avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Beiramar.

Beiramar is nestled in close to Thomas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fernando Beiramar wasn't active enough on the ground.
Thomas tries for a takedown but Beiramar circles away easily

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beiramar can do anything to dispel that myth.
Beiramar holds on to Thomas as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomas throws some wild stikes that Beiramar manages to avoid easily.

Beiramar takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Thomas is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Beiramar knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Beiramar for a finish.
