Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Dansen!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dansen has managed to clinch.

Dansen pulls guard successfully.
Dansen has momentary wrist control but Power slips an elbow through the middle.
Dansen being controlled here, momentarily.
Dansen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Power accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dansen wants to get back to his feet but Power is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dansen pulls Power in close to prevent any damage.
Power wants to control from the top but Dansen keeps moving.
Dansen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jon Dansen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Dansen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Power!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Power takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Dansen taking a break here but Power is having none of it and regains half guard.
Dansen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Dansen is looking for a kimura but Power is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dansen to get the leverage.

Dansen seems to be looking for submissions.

Dansen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Power has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dansen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Power is trying to stand back up but Dansen is controlling him
Power keeping hold of Dansen's head, controlling as best he can.
Dansen wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Power uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Dansen won't allow Power to sweep him here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dansen is pushing down on Power's leg trying to pass to half guard. Power is fighting to maintain full guard but Dansen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dansen trying to control from half guard but Power is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dansen stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Dansen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dansen lands in his opponent's guard.

Dansen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dansen passes Power's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Dansen decides to return to a standing position.
Dansen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jon Dansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dansen shoots in for a takedown but Power shows good takedown defense.
Power pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Power tries to clinch but Dansen is having none of it.
Dansen throws a leg kick

and Power moves into the clinch.

Power breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dansen shoots in and bounces Power off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Power working for a triangle but Dansen defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dansen showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dansen wants to control from the top but Power keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Power's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Power gets caught flat footed, as Dansen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dansen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Power is keeping the position for now.
Power keeping moving, preventing Dansen from controlling successfully.
Power can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dansen controls the pace.

Jon Dansen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Dansen or perhaps it was just good defense by Power which made him look bad.

Dansen shoots and misses
and Power counters with a big head kick but Dansen shrugs it off.
Dansen avoids the head kick by Power.
Dansen tries for a takedown but Power circles away easily
and Power counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Scott Power has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Dansen.
Dansen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dansen fails with a takedown attempt.
Dansen is breathing heavily.
Dansen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Power.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Power.
Dansen shoots in for a double leg but Power sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dansen misses with a takedown
and Power counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Power moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Dansen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Power counters with a single leg into guard. Dansen didn't expect that.
Power engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Dansen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dansen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Power sitting in guard here, content to control.
Dansen wants to control the position but Power says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Power is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dansen tries to get to full guard but Power has control of the leg.
Jon Dansen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Power looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dansen wants to get back to full guard.
Power is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dansen reverses the position - he's now on top in Power's guard.
Power is trying to keep Dansen in close.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dansen looking to sit in guard and control but Power gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Power stops Dansen from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Power dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Power circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dansen fails with the takedown.
Power misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dansen misses with a takedown
and Power counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Power swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Power misses with a double jab.
Power shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dansen sprawls well. Dansen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Power gets slowly back to his feet.

Power gets a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dansen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Power pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Scott Power has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Dansen.

Power breaks the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dansen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dansen wants to clinch.
Dansen fails with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dansen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Power defends it nicely.
Dansen tries to bum rush Power with a series of wild strikes but Power uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Power throws a head kick that misses.
Power scores with a nice head shot.

Dansen shoots in and gets a takedown into Power's guard.

Dansen advances to half guard.
Dansen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Power is trying to maintain the position but Dansen is very close to passing his half guard.
Power on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Power is looking for a sweep. Dansen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dansen wants to pass to mount but Power is defending the position.
Dansen works his way into full mount!
Dansen throwing strikes here but Power is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Dansen looking to control but Power is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dansen wants to take Power's back but he can't do it this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dansen can't control as he wanted to and Power manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Power is defending against the submission attempts here by Dansen.
Dansen controlling the action here.
Dansen passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Power is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Dansen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dansen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
