The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Labell as he avoids it easily.
Labell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Labell tries to sprawl but Brin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Brin.
Labell is controlling Brin's trapped leg to prevent Brin from advancing to side control.
Labell works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Labell has a closed guard, preventing Brin from standing up.

Brin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Brin looking to sit in guard and control but Labell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Labell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Labell wants to control from the top but Brin keeps moving.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brin wants to control the position but Labell says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Labell wants to take a breather but Brin is having none of it.

Labell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brin is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Labell jumps into side control!

Labell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Brin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Labell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Labell looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Brin is avoiding damage well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Labell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brin, who protects the arm well.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Brin is looking to clinch.

Labell rushes Brin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Brin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Labell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Labell jumps into guard, dragging Brin to the mat.
Brin looking to sit in guard and control but Labell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Labell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brin is proving hard to escape from.
Labell passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Brin is not content to let Labell control the position.

Labell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Scott Labell has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brin parries the strikes from Labell easily there. Labell is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brin to escape.

Brin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Labell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Labell controls the position.

Labell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Brin is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Labell is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Brin trying desperately to get to his feet.
Brin tries to lock up and control but Labell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Brin is desperately trying to improve his position but Labell has a good base and remains in mount.
Brin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brin tries to get out of the position.

Labell is working for a guillotine from mount but Brin frees his head quite easily.

Labell is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Brin is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Brin flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Labell anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Brin and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Labell slips an arm under Brin chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Labell has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Labell is squeezing on Brin like an anaconda would it's prey. Brin fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Scott Labell!
