Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cain Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles Paul has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cain Slade's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cain Slade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Miles Paul!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul circles away from the clinch attempt.
Paul throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Paul connects with a right hand. Slade shakes it off.
Slade has a takedown stuffed.
Slade pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Paul tries to bum rush Slade with a series of wild strikes but Slade uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Slade looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Paul misses with a looping left.
Slade fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Paul scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Slade doesn't seem bothered though.
Paul misses with a wild body shot.
Paul fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slade manages to avoid it.
Slade goes for a double leg but Paul avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Paul continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Slade. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Paul lands a body punch in the clinch.
Paul misses with the head strike.

Slade gets control of Paul's arms and successfully pulls guard. Slade will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Paul stands up and waves to Slade to follow him.
Slade is breathing heavily.
Paul throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Slade goes for a double leg but Paul avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Paul continues to drive forward.
Slade has Paul pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Paul manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Slade tries to pull guard but Paul forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Paul can't break the clinch.
Paul lands a right hand.
Paul tries to work over Slade's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Slade breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Slade dives in and grabs Paul's left leg, looking for a takedown. Paul pushes down on Slade's head and hops out.
Paul swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cain Slade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slade shoots in for a double leg but Paul sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Paul looks to land a left hand but Slade moved out of range nicely.
Slade tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Paul defends well and Slade ends up having to push Paul into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Paul breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Paul throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Slade is looking to clinch.
Paul connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Paul tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Slade was well out of range. Poor timing from Paul.
Miles Paul is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Slade closes the distance and clinches up with Paul, looking for a takedown. Slade pushes Paul against the cage but Paul circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slade has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Slade there as he acknowledges the shot.
Paul punishes Slade's body with a nice straight punch.
Slade takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Paul misses with a wild body shot.
Slade looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Paul is fending him off so far but Slade persists. Nope, Paul circles away and we're back to standing.
Slade closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paul circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from Paul misses the target.
Paul thows a body shot but no joy.
Paul lands a nice shot that snaps Slade's head back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paul looks to land a left hand but Slade moved out of range nicely.
Paul cracks Slade with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Paul lands an overhand right.


Slade is rocked!
Paul throws a shot from downtown. Slade moves away and avoids it.
Slade tries for a takedown but Paul sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Slade tries to clinch up but Paul circles away and keeps his distance.
Slade throws a low kick, looking for Paul's leg but Paul calmly moves out of range.
Paul missing with a left hand there. Slade was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slade dives in for a single leg takedown but Paul sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Paul swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Paul tries a body shot but Slade blocks it.
Paul lands a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miles Paul dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Slade counters with a nice double leg into side control. Paul won't be happy with that.
Paul wants to get back to his feet.
Paul gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Slade takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Paul is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Slade has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Paul's face.
Paul is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Slade tries to control but Paul wriggling away.
Slade lands a big shot there that rocks Paul but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Paul is trying to stand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cain Slade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Slade takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Paul wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Slade tries to control but Paul wriggling away.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Paul is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been informed that Paul has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Paul bucks Slade off and manages to get back to his feet!
Slade shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Paul defends it nicely.

Slade uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Paul.
Slade shoots in looking for a takedown but Paul manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Slade's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Paul. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Paul avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Slade is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Slade wants to break free but Paul has control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slade tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Paul smiles and moves away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paul connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Slade momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Miles Paul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Paul has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
