PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gus Dengel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Position (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dengel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Papillon. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gus Dengel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Sub Position!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dengel darts in looking for a takedown but Position gets double underhooks and turns Dengel into the ropes.
Position has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dengel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dengel pushes Position back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Position takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Sub Position has been cut.
Position jumps guard but Dengel turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.
Dengel gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Position.
Gus Dengel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Position.
Dengel connects with a nasty looking knee right to Position's face.

Position is trying to drag Dengel to the mat but Dengel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Position's coach down at The Rat Cage was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Position's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Position goes for a takedown attempt but Dengel pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
