Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monty Carlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Give Life back to Music. Monty Carlo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Monty Carlo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Watts!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watts shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carlo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Watts wants to stand but Carlo is controlling his arm.
Watts trying to control the action but Carlo is working from the bottom.
Carlo parries the strikes from Watts easily there. Watts is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Carlo to escape.
Watts throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Carlo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Watts is trying to control the action in half guard but Carlo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Watts stalling away here and it's allowed Carlo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Watts wants to control from the top but Carlo keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tim Watts.

Carlo misses with a takedown attempt - Watts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Watts moves into the clinch.
Watts is pressed up against the cage. Carlo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Watts down to the mat. Watts avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Carlo looks for a takedown but Watts sprawls well.

Carlo gets caught napping as Watts dives in and scores a takedown. Carlo manages to retain guard.
Watts tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlo is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Carlo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Watts after a bit of a struggle.

Watts is trying to control. Carlo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watts takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Carlo has Watts pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Watts manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Carlo lands a takedown into guard.
Watts is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Watts has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Carlo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Watts.
You can see the frustration on Watts's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Carlo has control of an arm but Watts manages to advance to Carlo's back!

Tim Watts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Watts has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
