The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hewitt is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fon Gadov's half guard.
Fon Gadov looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hewitt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hewitt landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Hewitt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fon Gadov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fon Gadov regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hewitt's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
