Batista has chosen fighter as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista dives in for a single leg takedown but Mariner sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Batista throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mariners head.

Batista jumps guard and drags Mariner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mariner is fighting to break Batista's control of his arms but Batista is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Batista pushes a forearm under Mariner's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mariner is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
