Nexus is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Nexus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Paris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nexus has managed to get both his arms back between Paris's legs - danger averted.

Paris is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nexus trying to control the position from guard on top but Paris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Nexus working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Paris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nexus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Paris can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nexus controls the pace.
Nexus slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Paris.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nexus lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nexus pulls his head out easily.
Paris is refusing to be controlled, as Nexus sits in half guard.

Paris is staying active underneath Nexus, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Paris is bucking up trying to escape but Nexus cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Paris takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Nexus's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Galaxy Nexus decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
