PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tic Tac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Tyme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyme has chosen Remember The Name - Fort Minor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Tic Tac could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Justin Tyme's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tic Tac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Tyme!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tyme enables Tac to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tyme manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Tac looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Tyme keeping full guard, as Tac tries to pass.
Tac trying to control but Tyme is working from the bottom.
Tyme is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tac throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tyme has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Tac has passed into side control.

Tac thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tac goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Tyme rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tac's guard! Nice work there by Tyme!
Tyme trying to control but Tac is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tyme would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Tac is looking for a triangle but Tyme pushes his legs off easily.
Tyme wants to control from the top but Tac keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tac tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Justin Tyme wasn't active enough on the ground.
Tyme throws a head kick that misses.
Tyme throws a body kick that misses.
Tyme throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tyme throws a body kick that misses.

Tac gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tac is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tyme is defending well.
Tyme is trying to force a seperation but Tac has the dominant position.

Tyme manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tac misses with a wild combination.
Tyme throws a head kick but Tac moves out of range.
Justin Tyme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tyme misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tyme throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tac tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tyme swivels and escapes.
Tac avoids the head kick by Tyme.
Tyme stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tyme wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tic Tac. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head kick misses from Tyme.
Tyme just misses with a punch to the body.
Tyme throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tac.
Tyme looks winded!
Tac shoots in but Tyme avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Tyme gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Tac thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tyme keeping moving, preventing Tac from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tac works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Tyme felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tac is keen to just control but Tyme is a slippery customer.

Tac is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Tyme to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Tyme manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Tyme.
Tac shoots in looking for a takedown but Tyme manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tac's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tac fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tyme tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tac was well out of range. Poor timing from Tyme.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tac doesn't manage to clinch there - Tyme circles away.
Tyme throws a sloppy head kick and Tac moves out of range easily.
Horrible takedown by Tac or perhaps it was just good defense by Tyme which made him look bad.
Tyme throws a body kick that misses
and Tac counters with a lovely shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tic Tac dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Tac moves into the clinch.
Tyme wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tac drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Tac gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Tac won't allow Tyme to sweep him here.

Tyme has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tac off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Tac fails to land the takedown.

Tyme lands a big head kick that sends Tac tumbling to the mat! Tyme takes a step backwards and waves Tac back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Tac is rocked!
Tac looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Justin Tyme seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crack! A monster head kick from Tyme and Tac falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Tyme!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Justin Tyme!
Justin Tyme seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
